Capitalism is dead.
It was a nice idea, but it has failed as a model upon which to build an economy.
“Capitalism” as it’s called today in this country is nothing more than a socialized economy for the rich.
If we truly practiced capitalism there would be no such thing as “corporate welfare” but since every big national industry gets billions of yours and my tax dollars every year, that is all the proof you need to come to the conclusion that capitalism is dead.
The problem we are in is that the people at the top staked everything they had on the idea of capitalism and they can’t and won’t admit they were wrong. The U.S. economy probably peaked as high as it ever could in the 1950s. But instead of facing reality, the people with the power created a complex web of credit and loans to keep up the appearance of economic growth going…
I don’t know what the answer to this is… but our government and big power/corporations are so deeply in bed with one another that i doubt they can even tell anymore who is doing the fucking and who is getting fucked. And that is why the more control we leave and give to them the worse off we(the little people) will be, which is why socialism isn’t the answer either.
Our federal government is nothing more than a broker. What I mean is, they are like a mortgage broker. Instead of you dealing directly with a bank, the mortgage broker positions himself in front of the entrance and forces you to pay him to move aside so that you can walk into the bank. Our government is no different.
Say you have the noble intentions of feeding hungry people in the country and you get the federal government to start a program to deal with hunger.
What will happen? Well, first of all, before anybody gets any food, the government has to get some cash in their pocket.
Meaning, if I give $100 for the new program to feed hungry people, the government(broker) will take 10, 20, 30, 40% off the top for themselves. So that $100 bag of food is now only a $60 bag of food to feed the hungry.
I think you, other individuals, private organizations, non-profits, churches, etc. are all much more trustworthy, better at achieving a goal and mindful of waste than the government will ever be.
If I have to choose between you and me going to the store and buying food for a hungry family in town or giving that money to the government to feed that same family… I will go with you every time and every time I will say no way to giving that money to the government.
Depending on the government means you are letting the government decide your fate for you and you are giving them control over you…
Conquer, consume, destroy. Ain’t Capitalism grand?

Well put! Capitalism is something in which I do believe, not this type into which it has evolved.
We can all change it! Strength in numbers!!
